Blog Header

What does the header image convey about your website, and how does this relate to meeting the information needs of your target audience?

My header image shows my audience that this blog will be related to food. This header image relates to meeting the information needs of my audience because the images included are of two different foods from different cultures to show that I will be cooking different kinds of recipes.

Where did you find your source images? How do you know that you are allowed to reuse them?

I found my source images from searching “food” in Google Images. I know that I am allowed to reuse them because I used a filter for images approved for noncommercial reuse.

Briefly address the production process. How did you make use of image editing techniques described in Manovich’s article to create a multi-layer image?

I used Adobe Photoshop to combine the two pictures together with multiple layers. I also placed a textured filter over the images to give them a different look.

Compare your production process to that of a single-layer bitmap image of the sort that Davison describes. How is it similar or different?

A multi-layer and single-layer image differ in the production process because multi-layering allows for organized, independent variables. You can easily edit specific parts of an image without affecting the other parts.
